Pankti Purohit, PT, DPT

Pankti Purohit is a registered physiotherapist who graduated from Emory University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy; she also holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Western University. Pankti has completed her Pilates Mat training through Balanced Body and is keen on completing the reformer and apparatus training as well.

She places great value on continuing education, as she believes physiotherapy is a continuously growing field driven by evidence-based practice. As a result, she has completed a number of post-graduate courses including soft tissue release, pediatric yoga, and gait biomechanics. Her goal is to complete her acupuncture and dry needling certification this year and start furthering her manual therapy skill set.

As a physiotherapist, Pankti’s treatment approach stems from Pilates based movement principles in order to combat dysfunctional movement patterns and treat pain. As an adjunct to manual based therapy, Pankti incorporates therapeutic exercise and patient education to promote return to prior level of function.

Outside of work, Pankti enjoys staying active through running, Pilates and yoga, and has recently taken up road biking. She enjoys volunteering throughout the community, and was a volunteer physiotherapist for the 2015 NYC Marathon.
